My Favourite Moments at MBFWA 2015
Fashion Week passed in a flash, so I took the time over the weekend to reflect on the shows and trawl through hundreds of my iPhone photos. There were so many beautiful sets, impressive finales and stunning clothes so I thought I would share a few of my favourite moments with you, from my perspective…
Image Above: Fantastic florals from Kate Sylvester.
The amazing white backdrop at Maticevski made me swoon.
Carla Zampatti’s show was held the week before Fashion Week at the Opera House, marking 50 years in the business. While the view was impressive it was the bright pink overcoats that really caught my eye.
Kirrily Johnston’s collaboration with Cooper Street saw a slew of summery separates; most notable was this fresh tie-dye print.
Ten Pieces won fashion week with their location alone, with models stomping through an empty pool at Bondi Icebergs.
Feminine dresses are key to any Kate Sylvester collection and this emerald number was one of my favs.
Michael Lo Sordo’s pleated pieces were beyond beautiful, had me dreaming of summer weddings dancing in bare feet.
A killer set and bold designs made for an unforgettable Manning Cartell show.
Ticket of the week? Romance Was Born’s Cooee Couture collection at The Art Gallery of New South Wales.
And boy did Anna and Luke put on a show… their colourful concoctions had me weak at the knees.
Tome’s Monday morning show was pure elegance.
Jennifer Kate’s confetti lined runway and ginormous balloons set the tone for a fun show packed with luxe leathers and super-wearable shapes.
Alice McCall’s pastel set was the stuff dreams are made of… literally.
Another pink piece from Carla Zampatti’s Opera House show.
There were far fewer shows off location this year, so We Are Handsome’s Tennis Court backdrop was pretty great.
Dreamy pink tulle from Dyspenea (props also for a mean soundtrack)!
Another WOW moment during Ten Pieces’ Bondi show.
Gary Bigeni’s refreshing summery lineup was packed with pieces I want, included this textured wrap skirt.
Last but not least… Ellery’s spectacular opening night show had so many memorable moments. From The Australian Ballet’s opening performance to Katy Perry’s Firework soundtrack blaring for the finale; oh and did I mention Gemma Ward made an appearance – opening the show in all black.
